Applications Being Accepted Now for Education Research Grants

luxxotica-logoASCO is once again offering Educational Starter Grants in support of education research. Funding for the 2015 grant program is provided by Luxottica and The Vision Care Institute, LLC, an affiliate of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc. The Educational Starter Grants are based on the concept of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL); however, all types of education research projects will be considered. Collaborations between institutions are encouraged.

Faculty from all schools and colleges of optometry in the 50 U.S. states and Puerto Rico are eligible to submit a proposal. The amount and number of awards will vary depending on the individual projects. Budget requests up to $4,000 will be considered. Applications must be submitted by midnight on May 29, 2015, and awarding of the grants will occur by June 16. The resulting manuscripts will be peer-reviewed and published in ASCO’s journal Optometric Education.

For more information, see the complete details about the grants and the application process. Questions can be directed to Dr. Aurora Denial, Editor, Optometric Education, at deniala@neco.edu or (617) 587-5769.
