ASCO participated in the 5th USA Science & Engineering Festival in Washington, DC on April 6-8 along with AOA and AOSA. The three optometric organizations had several hands-on activities that showed the importance of healthy eyes and the impact the profession of optometry has on people’s lives.
The festival reported approximately 370,000 attendees, including K-12 students and their teachers, families, government officials, and the press. The goal of the festival is to educate the public face-to-face about the wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and showcase the special technological projects involving over 1,000 participating organizations.
