Over the past several years, the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) has commissioned leading architects and designers to renovate areas of the college, including the Eyepod and the main lecture center, with a contemporary aesthetic and flow. The college’s latest renovation began in late March and includes an overhaul of the two-story library (Phase I), which will ultimately make room for much-needed clinic space in the Illinois Eye Institute and the Alfred and Sarah Rosenbloom Center on Vision and Aging (Phase II). Chicago-based architectural and interior design firm Jensen & Halstead is implementing the renovation.

The Phase II renovation of the Illinois Eye Institute to build out the Rosenbloom Center is expected to begin this summer after Phase I is complete. The Rosenbloom Center will be a new facility devoted to the vision care needs of the aging population.
