At its Oct. 22 meeting, the ASCO Board of Directors approved the Centro Escolar University College of Optometry as an Affiliate Member. Established in 1928, the college includes not only academic but also co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that guide students toward becoming global leaders in their future profession and independent thinkers cognizant of their crucial role in primary eye health care. The college has distinguished itself in many ways, including being the only optometry school with Level IV Accredited status granted by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation. It is also a Top Performing Optometry School as designated by the Professional Regulation Commission.
ASCO is pleased to welcome the Centro Escolar University College of Optometry as an Affiliate Member, and our thoughts are with the university community and all of the citizens of the Philippines who are suffering the effects of typhoon Haiyan.
