New graphs tracking trends in student and faculty data over time are now available on the ASCO website. Graphs include changes in enrollment by gender and race/ethnicity, number of graduates by race/ethnicity, average direct cost of attending Doctor of Optometry programs and degrees earned by faculty by rank and gender. Additional trends tables and graphs continue to be developed in the areas of admissions, financial aid and residencies and will be posted as they are completed.
The compilation of key metrics trend data was endorsed by the ASCO Board of Directors in 2015 in order to provide more complete information to the Association’s members and to the public about optometric education as a whole, and to provide benchmark data for the use of member schools and colleges.
