Dr. Gregory S. Moore

The University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO) appointed Dr. Gregory S. Moore as a Senior Clinical Instructor of Optometry. Dr. Moore has a vast base of practice experiences ranging from serving as optometrist for the Chicago Cubs to owning and working as clinical director of the West Virginia Laser Eye Center LLC. Dr. Moore has been involved extensively with the use of platelet rich plasma in the treatment of ocular surface disease. As a result of his research and clinical experience, he holds multiple patents and has shared his expertise in textbooks and numerous peer-reviewed journal articles. He served two terms as president of the West Virginia Board of Optometry and is currently Vice President and President-Elect of the Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry.

KYCO also announced that Dr. James Rogala joined the faculty as Associate Professor of Optometry. Dr. Rogala is an experienced optometric educator who specializes in ocular disease. Most recently, as an Associate Professor at Western University of Health Sciences, he was course leader for diagnosis and treatment of the posterior segment, diagnosis and treatment of the anterior segment and special procedures in optometry, as well as a major lecturer for neurological disease diagnosis and treatment. From 2007 until joining the faculty at Western University in 2011, Dr. Rogala taught ocular pathology at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, where he was course coordinator for diseases of the eye and visual system: diagnosis and management.
