Dr. Carolyn Begley, a faculty member at Indiana University School of Optometry, presented a poster titled, “Why is the Tear Film Important?” at the Dry Eye: An Updated Definition, A Greater Impact on Vision Health Event held on Capitol Hill on July 12, 2017. Her poster explained the purpose of tear film and what happens when one’s tear film is inadequate. Her poster presentation was part of a larger event that was sponsored by the Alliance for Eye and Vision Research (AEVR) and the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society (TFOS) which was held in honor of Dry Eye Awareness Month.
