Dr. John Nishimoto Elected as a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice in Optometry

Marshall B. Ketchum University’s John Nishimoto, OD, MBA, Senior Associate Dean for Professional Affairs, has been elected as a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice in Optometry. A Distinguished Fellow within NAP is a very high honor that acknowledges Dr. Nishimoto’s outstanding professional achievements.

Dr. Nishimoto joins other health care leaders and practitioners of NAP, who are working collaboratively as an interprofessional community to influence and promote national health policy, legislation, quality health care, and research.

NAP holds interprofessional health care policy forums, congressional briefings, membership symposiums and annual conferences. They also publish the Journal for Interprofessional Education and Practice, a quarterly peer-reviewed journal, focused on interprofessional topics in practice, education, research and policy.

NAP is comprised of distinguished professionals that advance interprofessional health care by fostering collaboration and advocating policies in the best interest of individuals and communities.

In April, Dr. Nishimoto will join his peers in Atlanta, Georgia for NAP’s Annual Meeting and Forum. The title of this year’s forum, “Laying the Foundation for Boldly Advancing Interprofessional Healthcare in America” will focus on:
