MCPHS University School of Optometry Receives Accreditation

At its annual meeting on June 20-23, 2018, the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) considered the report of the March 25-28, 2018 evaluation visit to the professional optometric degree program at the MCPHS University School of Optometry. The ACOE voted to raise the program’s accreditation classification to “Accredited.” The classification of “Accredited” indicates that the program meets the ACOE standards with no deficiencies or weaknesses that compromise the educational effectiveness of the total program.

“We couldn’t be more excited to receive the ACOE’s decision,” said Dr. Morris Berman, Dean of the School. “Dedication to quality optometric education was at the heart of the tremendous effort needed to achieve this outcome. The faculty worked cohesively over several years to create an excellent program. There is a certain pride that comes with building something new.  Our faculty, staff, students and graduates should all be very proud.”
