The Curators of the University of Missouri System recently approved phase one of a three-phase construction project, a new $17 million Patient Care Center that will house the University of Missouri at St. Louis College of Optometry (UMSL) and College of Nursing. The 48,000-sq.-ft. facility, expected to open in summer 2016, will be used for clinical services and clinical education and research for residents and students. Some of the space in the building will be leasable to providers of complementary healthcare services, an arrangement that could provide partnership opportunities and interdisciplinary educational experiences.
Also: Devin Sasser, UMSL Class of 2015, is the new President of the American Optometric Student Association.
